What to Expect

Before Your Session
Please carefully plan what you wear for your photography session.  See my page on What to Wear for more information.  You can bring changes of outfits.  Ladies- I can not say enough about how wonderful professional hair and makeup will make you look- please check out that page for more information.  Moms and dads- please make sure little ones get their regular naps and are well fed before their session.  Bring a snack, juice, toys- whatever supplies are needed to make your little ones happy.  Tired, hungry, cranky babies do not photograph well.  If your little ones are having a particularly bad day (trust me, I know having a little one myself), please let me know and I will do the best I can to reschedule you though this may not always be possible.  Please bring your filled out and signed liability release with you to your session.

Time
Your session will last between 1-3 hours depending upon the type of session you have chosen.

Location
Although I do have a small home studio, I prefer to do the bulk of my photography outside.  I have some favorite places in and around Lafayette I like to shoot at, but please feel free to make suggestions.  If a particular place has significance to you or you have a gorgeous location you would like to use, please let me know.  Your session should be what you want it to be.  Newborn sessions are done either in my home or yours- whatever is more convenient for you.

During the Session
If I am working with children, I like to spend a few minutes being goofy and getting to know everyone.  This helps everyone relax and act naturally.  For families and engagement shots, I may pose you for some images.  Other times, I may ask you just to interact like you normally would (I know normal is relative when a camera is following you around).  I may act a bit goofy, say funny things- to try and get natural smiles from everyone.  We can take breaks whenever needed.

After Your Session
Within 3 weeks (sometimes faster), your images will be edited and ready for you to view.  I spend considerable time editing each photo to get it just right.  We will schedule an in person ordering session to order your prints.  You will also receive a cd with the edited images from your session. Please do not print your images from local box stores.  They "auto correct" the colors in images and can do some really horrible things to nice images.  I recommend http://www.mpix.com/ for consumer printing.
***Please note: I can not guarantee the quality of images printed from non-professional labs.
I do not sell unedited images.
